Quantum computing is what’s catching the eye of more and more prospecting investors. It offers a glimpse into some of the possibilities of the future; a faster, more powerful and efficient future. It could be used to exponentially develop our space exploration, enhance our AI computing to a level of competence that some would deem ‘intelligent’, predict weather patterns with much more accuracy, and much much more. 

First we’ll explore some of the attributes of a quantum computer. Unlike classical computers which use a bit system to operate, quantum computers use qubits. A bit can be in one of two states: either on (a 1) or off (a 0), and classical computers manipulate these ones and zeroes to execute commands and perform operations. Quantum computers however use qubits, which can be on, off, or on and off at the same time. This is called superpositioning, and allows qubits to be in multiple states at the same time. This is a vital property of qubits, because it means they’re able to perform two calculations at once, meaning they can work faster and more efficiently than classical computers.
